Issue:
You may experience installation problems or issues with the original installation of Autodesk® AutoCAD® Raster Design.In these cases, it is strongly recommended that you completely remove Raster Design from the system, and then attempt a new installation on the system.
Solution:
To uninstall Raster Design and remove any remnants of this product from the system follow the steps outlined below:Important: Make sure you back up your customized Raster Design files before you implement the following procedures.
Uninstall Raster Design:
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Settings > Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click Programs and Features.
- In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select Autodesk® AutoCAD® Raster Design and click Uninstall.
- Click Yes when prompted to confirm that you want to completely remove the application and all of its components.
- If you are prompted to remove shared files, click No to All, and then click Yes when prompted for confirmation to proceed.
- After the uninstall procedure is complete, click OK.
- Reboot the computer.
Remove any remaining Raster Design files
- In Windows Explorer, delete the following Raster Design installation folder.
C:Program FilesAutodeskAutodesk AutoCAD [vertical application] 20XX
Note: If your operating system is configured to store the Program Files folder on a drive other than C, the path is on that drive.
Remove any remaining entries for Raster Design from the Windows registry
- Delete the following folders:
- C:Users<<USER>>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD Raster Design 20XX
- C:Users<<USER>>AppDataLocalAutodeskAutoCAD Raster Design 20XX
Note: You need to delete these folders for each Windows user account.- Log on to the workstation as a member of the local Administrators group.
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, enter regedit.
- In the Registry Editor, locate the following subkeys and delete them:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskAutoCADR20.0AutoCAD Raster Design 2015
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREAutodeskAutoCADR20.0ARD-601:407

The Raster Design installation has now been fully removed from the system.

Before reinstalling Raster Design
In Windows Explorer, delete the contents of your Windows Temp directory.
You should also close and temporarily disable any antivirus software that may be running on the system. You can use the End Task feature to close the antivirus software. Disabling the software from the system tray may not be sufficient. Antivirus software may be used to block certain activities (access to the registry, adding/removing/updating DLL files, and so on) that are seen as suspicious, even though these activities are common when installing or removing programs.
Several antivirus programs can be disabled by right-clicking on their taskbar icon and clicking Disable on the shortcut menu. For more information about disabling your antivirus software, refer to the vendor of that software.
Now, you can reinstall Raster Design on the system.
- Exit the Registry Editor.
- Reboot the computer.
- Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
- In the Close Programs window, select the antivirus program and click End Task.
- Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
- Click Task Manager.
- In Task Manager, click the Processes tab.
- Select the process for the anti-virus program, and then click End Process.

Take care entering these values as you register and activate your products, so that you don’t inadvertently transpose or skip numbers or letters.
- Serial Number is misspelled
- Serial Number must have exactly 12 characters (11 numerals and a hyphen)
- Serial Number cannot contain alpha characters

This error is often displayed as 'Serial Number is invalid.'
There are several reasons why this mismatch can occur.
- The serial number is valid, but is associated with a different product (e.g., AutoCAD LT 2010 versus AutoCAD 2010)
- The serial number is valid, but is associated with a different version of AutoCAD (e.g., AutoCAD 2009 versus AutoCAD 2011)
- The serial number is valid for a network deployment, but you are trying to activate the product as a standalone license (and vice versa)

There are a number of reasons why a serial number may not be valid.
- Your product might have been upgraded to a new version or cross-graded to a different product

Before registering and activating your product, be sure the Serial Number you are using matches the product, product release, and the type of license you have purchased.

Contact information does not match what is already associated with the Serial Number when the product was registered
This usually occurs when there is a change to your name, the name of your company, or your address after the product was registered. Be sure to keep your contact information up to date in Register Once. There, you can add an account with your current information, register products to that account, and delete your old accounts, or those with outdated information.
Activation limit exceeded for the license
Activation limits are set based on the type of license agreement you have with Autodesk. They are designed so that you can easily remain compliant with the license you purchased and so that you are protected from someone else using your license. (You may receive 'Error 10: Activation Limit Reached' during the in-product activation process.)
